A WAY OF SEEING

The past,
made present.

Nathalie believes that we already have enough. We just need to look at what we have differently.

Before founding HOP’s Amsterdam, Nathalie spent around fifteen years working as an international marketing researcher, after studying Social Psychology. Her journey into creative reuse came later, through a growing desire to explore a more creative and sustainable way of working.

After experimenting with sustainable fashion, she began looking at another kind of material that was already everywhere around her: discarded everyday objects.

Old flower pots, unwanted furniture, and objects left behind became her starting point. Rather than searching for rare or valuable vintage pieces, Nathalie is drawn to the ordinary things that people overlook—objects that still have plenty of life left in them but have lost their place in contemporary interiors.

With bold colours, playful compositions, and a distinctly joyful approach to design, she transforms these discarded objects into pieces with a completely new identity. A forgotten pot can become a striking interior object; an unwanted piece of furniture can become something people want to keep.

What makes Nathalies approach particularly interesting is that she doesnt treat reuse as a compromise. Her work is colourful, expressive, and designed to create desire around objects that might otherwise have become waste.

At the heart of her practice is a simple idea: we dont always need new materials to create something new.
